Food, Not Specific Nutrients, May Be Key to Good Health

Here is a review of a very interesting bit of research that was published in last month's Journal of Nutrition Reviews.

Food, Not Specific Nutrients, May Be Key to Good Health

In a way, this exemplify's both Eat Stop Eat and Nutrition by Addition, as it points to focusing on food, rather than specific nutrients in your approach to overall health.

Happy Reading,

PS - I received an absolutely amazing email from someone who has lost an impressive amount of weight while making some quality changes in his life, including incorporating the Eat Stop Eat of fasting for weight loss. You can read his email as the bottom of this page => HERE

Brad,
I am really enjoying your blog. I am on the verge of buying your book but I have a few questions. You seem to keep saying "weight loss", I am looking for "fat loss". I am tried several different approaches in the past and have failed time and again. I like what you have to say about eating real food and creating caloric deficits by fasting 1-2x per week.

So, for one looking to maintain as much muscle or even add just a tad while getting their bodyfat down to 8-10% how do you feel your plan holds up?

I looked for you email address but couldn't find it. I'd like to email you if I could. Thanks

Hi Anonymous,

I'm glad you like the blog. The Eat Stop Eat program will definitely work for fat loss.

The key to making sure the majority of your weight loss is fat loss is resistance training.

From my own personal experience I think that both muscle and strength gains are possible on the Eat Stop Eat program. To get down to 8-10% you will have to pay some attention to your meals in between fasts, and make sure your workouts are geared towards your goals.

Feel free to shoot me an email any time brad at eatstopeat dot com
